What is Litigation?

Litigation is the formal legal process of resolving disputes between individuals, businesses, or other parties through the court system.

No matter what your case involves, having skilled legal counsel from the very beginning can significantly affect your position and the outcome of your case. And while many assume litigation always means going to trial, the majority of disputes are resolved outside of the courtroom through negotiation, mediation, or settlement.

Our Approach

Decisions made at the start of a lawsuit can determine the outcome.

Our experienced team of Central Florida litigators combines robust preparation and a relenteless attention to detail to deliver clear counsel and a strategy focused on the best outcome for you.
1. Case Assessment

We start by hearing your story and carefully reviewing your case. From there, our team will walk you through our assessment and give you an overview of the strengths and risks of your case, and what the timeline may look like.

You'll leave knowing where you stand and exactly what your options are.

2. Building Your Strategy

Every case is different, and the right approach starts with understanding what matters most to you. Whether that's a quick resolution, protecting a key relationship, or defending your name, our team places your priorities at the forefront. We build a plan around your goals and regularly revisit those goals with you as the case develops.

This way, you always know what your legal team is doing and why.

3. Preparing for Trial

Discovery is the pre-trial phase where opposing parties share relevant documents and information about witnesses. This is often the longest phase of a trial, where we investigate the facts, review documents, take or defend depositions, and organize and prepare evidence for court.

We keep you informed about what is needed from you and when.

4. Filings & Hearings

Florida courts have strict rules and deadlines that dictate how a case must move forward. During this phase, we prepare and file paperwork, ask the judge overseeing your case to decide key questions, and represent you and your interests at hearings. This is the day-to-day work that keeps your case on track.

You will always know what's happening, what we're working on, and how it could affect your outcome.

5. Going to Trial

Most disputes end with a settlement instead of a trial, but if your case does go to trial, your legal team is prepared and ready to fight for your outcome. We prepare evidence and witnesses, organize key documents, walk you through what to expect in the courtroom, from opening statements to testimony.

You will step into the courtroom informed, prepared, and backed by a supportive and knowledgeable team.

6. After the Verdict

Once the court's decision is made, our team is still here for you. We can help collect on a judgement and pursue or respond to an appeal. After the trial, we will walk you through all of your options for moving forward or closing your case.
