Experience Built on Litigation and Advocacy

George “Jay” Bloder is a proud Lake County native and a dedicated attorney with a diverse background in complex litigation.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from DePaul University College of Law. During law school, Jay served on the DePaul Law Review and further developed his litigation skills through the Civil Litigation Clinic.

Jay began his legal career clerking for Justice Michael B. Hyman at the First District Appellate Court of Illinois, where he gained valuable insight into appellate advocacy and judicial decision-making.

He later served in the Environmental Protection Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office, where he handled major enforcement actions involving air emissions, large-scale waste sites, and water pollution. In that role, he represented key state agencies, including the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Texas General Land Office.

Before joining Merideth Nagel, P.A. — The Legacy Legal Team, Jay practiced at a boutique litigation firm in Austin, Texas, where he focused on construction litigation and insurance defense.

Jay brings a strategic and analytical approach to his work, helping clients navigate complex legal challenges with clarity and confidence.
